USD Softens Late as AUD Fails to Hold Fresh YTD Highs

The USD traded modestly stronger early in the session before giving back gains amid thin, holiday-affected liquidity. AUD/USD briefly pushed to fresh YTD highs at 0.6727 during local trade but reversed as Europe came online, settling near 0.6690 into the Sydney open. EUR/USD recovered from 1.1750 lows to test 1.1789, while GBP/USD remained range-bound despite mixed geopolitical headlines.
USD/JPY drifted lower as US yields edged down, with the pair touching 155.92 lows late in the session. Overall, major FX pairs consolidated into tight ranges, reflecting cautious positioning and subdued market
