USD Weakens as Ceasefire Boosts Risk Currencies
The USD remained under pressure as optimism surrounding a temporary U.S.–Iran ceasefire lifted risk sentiment, driving gains across major and commodity-linked currencies including AUD, NZD, EUR, and GBP. AUD/USD traded within a recent range and settled near the mid-range, while NZD/USD extended higher after the RBNZ held rates steady. Meanwhile, EUR/USD and GBP/USD climbed to fresh session highs as European markets came online. Despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, FX markets later consolidated into tighter ranges, reflecting cautious optimism among investors.
