USD Firms as Geopolitical Uncertainty Lingers; AUD Underperforms
The USD remained broadly supported despite an initial risk-on tone, as markets reacted to mixed developments surrounding potential Iran ceasefire talks, while the AUD underperformed following softer-than-expected Australian CPI. AUD/USD traded within a tight range, settling near the lower end ahead of the Sydney open, as EUR/USD moved lower and GBP/USD weakened despite steady UK inflation data. Meanwhile, USD/JPY pushed to fresh highs and USD/CAD continued to climb, reflecting broad USD strength. Looking ahead, demand for AUD/USD is expected near support levels, with resistance seen toward the upper range.
