USD Volatile After Mixed U.S. Jobs Data; GBP Outperforms on Strong Wages

FX markets were volatile amid mixed U.S. economic data and softer global risk sentiment. The USD initially weakened following a softer wage print in the U.S. Non-Farm Payrolls report but later stabilised as equity markets remained under pressure. AUD/USD continued to trade within a familiar range, supported ahead of 0.6600, while GBP outperformed after UK wage growth surprised to the upside. JPY firmed modestly as U.S. Treasury yields edged lower, while CAD softened alongside a sharp decline in crude oil prices. EUR/USD pushed to fresh session highs after the U.S. data before paring gains into the New York close.
