USD: Firm on Strong U.S. Data
The U.S. dollar strengthened as upbeat retail sales and jobless claims data signaled resilience in the U.S. economy, though gains moderated late in the session.
AUD/USD traded between 0.64545–0.65275, settling near 0.6480.
NZD/USD eased to 0.5906 before recovering marginally.
EUR/USD dipped to 1.1556 on broad USD strength.
GBP/USD slid to 1.3375, trimming early losses.
USD/JPY climbed to highs above 149.00.
USD/CAD peaked at 1.3775 before paring gains.
AUD: Pressured by Soft Jobs Report
AUD lost ground after the unemployment rate rose to 4.3% vs. 4.1% expected, adding to downside pressure before U.S. data drove further declines.
