Forex Market 

USD: Modest Gains Amid Shutdown, Majors Recover
The USD posted modest gains despite no U.S. data releases due to the government shutdown. The greenback firmed through the NY morning, though pared gains into the afternoon with majors climbing off lows as Sydney came online.
  • AUD/USD traded a 0.6577–0.6624 range, recovering to 0.6600 late.
  • EUR/USD dipped to 1.1683 before bouncing off lows.
  • GBP/USD touched 1.3402 before recovering.
  • USD/JPY fell to 146.60 before rebounding to 147.51.
  • NZD/USD hit 0.5803 before edging higher.
  • USD/CAD rose to 1.3986.
  • DXY traded between 97.52–98.13. 

 

AUD: Tight Range Trade
AUD/USD traded in a narrow 18-pip range, dipping to 0.6603 at midday before rebounding. Demand is seen around 0.6575, with selling interest near 0.6630.
