USD Slips as Ceasefire Hopes Lift Risk Currencies

Markets remained volatile as geopolitical headlines surrounding the Iran conflict and ongoing ceasefire discussions continued to drive sentiment. The USD weakened throughout the New York session, allowing major currencies to push higher, while risk appetite improved late in the day on optimism around a potential temporary truce.
AUD/USD traded near the top of its range, supported by the softer USD, while EUR/USD and GBP/USD extended gains and NZD/USD also strengthened. In contrast, USD/JPY moved higher, breaking above a key psychological level, reflecting underlying yield dynamics, while USD/CAD edged lower.
